Hello! everyone 🙂 Today I’d like to introduce Korean BBQ galbi
The restaurant’s name is 남영동양문 (Namyeong-dong Yangmun).
Namyeong-dong is a neighborhood near Seoul Station, where the very first location of this restaurant started.
It became quite popular and eventually opened several branches.
The original location is always crowded, so I recommend visiting the Hapjeong branch instead. It’s usually easier to get a table there.
I’ve added the map below to help you find it.
If you’re planning to visit Hongdae, this restaurant is a great choice — Hapjeong and Hongdae are right next to each other.
You’ll probably come across Hapjeong naturally as you explore the streets of Hongdae!
I had the Fresh Beef Rib Platter (600g), and it looked absolutely stunning — the presentation was on another level.
They even served it with a pat of butter on the side.

After grilling the beef, I brushed a bit of the butter on just before eating.
The heat from the meat gently melted the butter, letting it soak in, which made the flavor even richer and more satisfying.
It’s a small touch, but it really elevated the whole experience.
For two people, this amount of beef was just right.
I’d recommend adding a side dish to share. We tried the Galbi Ragu Pasta, and it was a perfect match.

The galbi ragu is served on top of the pasta, and right after bringing it to the table, they pour a soft egg mixture over it — almost like a little performance.
It’s fun to watch and makes the dish feel even more special!(You can check out the video below!)
After they pour the egg mixture, it gently cooks on top — and that’s when you dig in!
The rich galbi ragu and the creamy egg went perfectly with the pasta. It was such a satisfying combination.
If you’re looking for delicious Korean-style galbi, I definitely recommend this place!
