Hello everyone!
Today, I’d like to introduce some must-try food in Jeonju.
I found this place while I was traveling in Jeonju, and it has a collection of Koreans’ favorite dishes!
Let’s check it out together!

The restaurant’s name is 오원집 본점(Owonjip Main Branch).
Its exterior looks like a traditional local restaurant, and there were many local people dining there.
I highly recommend it for anyone who loves exploring local places!
I’ll include a Google Map at the bottom of this post to help you find it easily!

Kimbap and pork grilled over charcoal briquettes are two of Koreans’ favorite foods.
Kimbap is a dish where rice is wrapped in seaweed along with various vegetables, and finally coated with sesame oil.
It tastes fresh and I love the rich aroma of the sesame oil!
Yeontan-bul pork (charcoal-grilled pork) is delicious because it’s marinated in a unique Korean sauce and grilled over briquette charcoal, which gives it a special flavor. Although it looks red, it’s not spicy!

I also ordered a soup dish, Garak-guksu, to go along with everything I had. It helps bring all the flavors together and makes the meal even more satisfying!
<Price as of 2025>
Kimbap – 2,500won(1.8 USD)
Yeontan-bul pork (charcoal-grilled pork) – 12,000won(8.7 USD)
Garak-guksu – 5,000won(3.6USD)
Here’s the location on Google Maps!
If you’re looking for a long-standing restaurant and a local must-try, I highly recommend this place. I’m sure it will leave you satisfied!
Wishing you a great time on your journey!
