How Koreans Enjoy Weekend Dates — At The Hyundai Seoul

Hi there! How was your weekend?
This weekend, I went to The Hyundai Seoul department store with my girlfriend.
From June to September, it’s summer here in Korea, So indoor dates are just perfect during this season.

A wide view of The Hyundai Seoul's open-concept interior from the top floor, showcasing its modern architecture and spacious layout.
The Hyundai Seoul (Yeouido)

The Hyundai Seoul has plenty of shopping, a food court, cafés, and fun pop-up events, So there’s always something to explore.

If you take Exit 1 of Yeouinaru Station, turn left and walk for about 5 minutes — you’ll arrive at The Hyundai Seoul.

Rotating Pop-Up Events at The Hyundai Seoul

We look around high floor, there is K-pop idol Seventeen’s 5th album celebrate pop-up store(Happy burst day) in 5 floor. We can feel their powerful energy just by looking at it

A Quick Coffee Break

This is Café BERG on the 6th floor.
We ordered an iced Americano and a Seoul Coffee to enjoy the moment.

While we waited for our coffee, we found a little photo zone and had fun taking pictures.
Seoul Coffee comes with a layer of cinnamon cream on top, And it was really delicious.
I personally love cinnamon, so it was perfect for me.

There were plenty of cozy spots to sit, so we enjoyed our drinks comfortably there.

We found a photo booth with a fun newspaper theme, so we decided to take a picture there.
I brought the photo home, and when my dad saw it, he said, “Were you in the newspaper? Which one?” – he was so surprised! (Haha)
(One photo costs 3,000 won, or about $2.20 USD.)

Browsing Around the Food Court

After that, we headed down to the basement floors.
There’s so much good food to try on B1 and B2 – everything from snacks to full meals!

There are plenty of food courts and seating areas where you can enjoy your meal.
Especially on B1 (the first basement floor), you’ll find luggage storage lockers.
If you’re carrying a lot of bags, I recommend heading straight there as soon as you arrive. It’ll make your visit much more comfortable!

To wrap up the day, we had Malatang for dinner. A spicy hot pot that’s become really popular in Korea these days.
You get to choose your own ingredients, and they cook it in a flavorful broth. The price is based on weight, so try to pick just the right amount for yourself!
You can also choose your spice level from 0 to 3. Don’t worry if you can’t handle spicy food, Level 0 isn’t spicy at all!
We also had Kkwabaorou, which is crispy fried pork. It goes really well with Malatang, so I definitely recommend trying both together!

Summary and My Tips

by subway

If you’re coming by subway, here are a few helpful tips:

  • When using Line 5 (Yeouinaru Station), take Exit 1 for the most convenient route.
  • When using Yeouido Station (Lines 5 and 9), use Exit 3 and go through the underground passage.
This is especially recommended during very hot or cold weather.

Pop-Up Events

Events and pop-ups on the 5th floor and B1 change regularly.
If you’re planning a visit, I recommend checking in advance to see what events are happening during your trip.

Luggage Storage Tip

If you’re carrying a lot of bags, stop by B1 first and use the luggage lockers.
It makes shopping and walking around much more comfortable afterward.

Isn’t The Hyundai Seoul such a pleasant and refreshing place to visit?

I added the last photo simply because I personally love the clean, nature-inspired atmosphere there.

Thank you so much for reading all the way through today’s post.
I’ll be back next time with more fun and relaxing moments to share.

See you again soon, and thank you as always!
