Hello everyone! 🙂
Today, I’d like to introduce you to one of the best Korean black bean noodle spots in Seoul!
The restaurant’s name is 무탄 (Mootan).
Korean black bean noodles are made with a Chinese sauce called chunjang.
That’s why this dish is considered Korean-Chinese cuisine. It evolved to suit the Korean palate and became a uniquely Korean-style dish.
Korean people often order this dish for delivery or go out to eat it on special occasions.
It’s a versatile and beloved part of everyday life!
Today’s jjajangmyeon from Mootan is definitely one of those “special day” dishes a jjajangmyeon that feels extra special.
Additionally, this restaurant was featured on shows like Netflix’s Jjajangmyeon Rhapsody and Running Man.

Why is it so special?
Because it’s Steak truffle jjajangmyeon!
Normally, jjajangmyeon comes with small bits of meat and no fried egg.
But Mootan’s version? It’s loaded with thick steak slices, a perfectly fried egg, and plenty of truffle.
It was so delicious that words can’t describe it —
you really have to try it yourself!I’m already planning to visit again soon!
The other dishes were pretty good too.

Gochu Yuringi (Korean-style spicy fried chicken with chili oil) : The crispy chicken is buried under a generous pile of sliced chili peppers.
It had just the right amount of heat, and the chili flavor was really enjoyable.
Macaron Menbosha (Deep-fried shrimp toast shaped like a macaron) was big, packed with shrimp, and crispy on the outside — tender and juicy on the inside.
Each dish at Mootan felt unique and full of character.
With generous toppings and bold portions, it really stood out from other places like it had a personality of its own.
Menu prices (as of 2025)
Steak truffle jjajangmyeon : 33,000won (24 USD)
Gochu Yuringi : 49,000won (36 USD)
Macaron Menbosha(3ps) : 29,000 (21 USD)
They also offer a variety of set menus, and there are monthly discounts too so I recommend visiting and choosing whatever looks good to you at the time!
This restaurant is only in Seoul and has four locations. (I visited the COEX location)
Four locations : Apgujeong, Gwanghwamun, COEX, and Yeouido. (Let me show you the locations on the map, in order)
So if you’re traveling in the city, you just might pass by one of them!
Thanks so much for reading all the way through.
I hope you have a wonderful time exploring Korea!
